The quintessential British beach, Hornsea has everything you need and more – perfect for a relaxing or a fun-filled family day by the seaside in Yorkshire.
Hornsea beach has proudly held its Blue Flag status for the past five years. This is a quality standard that’s only held by beaches which meet strict criteria for water quality, cleanliness, safety and facilities.
In other words, you’re in good hands at Hornsea Beach!
The paddling pool by the promenade is a family-favourite, perfect for little ones to splash about in safely.
And by the beach you’ll find cafés, ice-cream shops and a fish-and-chip shop – just want you need to suit every seaside craving, whether it’s sweet or salty.
Hornsea is dog-friendly with pets free to roam from October through to April.
During the summer months, exclusion zones do come into place, so there are a few stretches where four legged friends are not allowed.
The Trans Pennine Trail – an awesome 343-mile cycling, walking and horse-riding route – spans all the way from Liverpool to Hornsea promenade. Head up to the pier to see if you can spot the trail marker!
There’s plenty of pay and display parking within a short walk of Hornsea’s beach. Hornsea Hub, Eastgate Car Park, Hornsea Burton Road Car Park and Sands Lane Car Park also all offer easy access to the beach on foot.
The promenade at Hornsea is split into tiered levels with access from the main road, ensuring easy wheelchair access. There are also ramps from the lower level of the promenade leading down to the beach. Just be aware there are no beach wheelchairs available at Hornsea.
Disabled toilets are available behind Huckleberry’s Café and can be found in the Hornsea Hub.
