The sun gleaming off the waves coming in at Skipsea Beach, East Yorkshire.

Skipsea Beach

It’s in the name – this is not a spot to skip! Discover Yorkshire’s beautiful beaches and coastlines right on our doorstep at Skirlington Coast.

Right on your doorstep

We can’t talk about the best beaches without mentioning the one right by us: Skipsea Beach. Nestled between Bridlington and Hornsea, this sand and pebble beach is backed by dramatic cliffs and has plenty of room to play.

No fuss adventures

Skipsea is a basic beach, but that’s part of the charm!

No toilets and no cafes mean that the beach remains unspoilt. It’s just under a mile from Skipsea village (about 15-20 minutes’ walk), where you’ll find all the necessary local amenities – including an ice-cream shop. But, if you want to keep things simple, try to bring everything that you need for the day.

Paw-some days out

Skipsea Beach is dog-friendly all year round, unlike other beaches which have seasonal restrictions, so you don’t have to leave your four-legged friend behind. The wide-open expanses of sand are ideal for long walks, and the peaceful atmosphere is perfect for relaxing while you blow the cobwebs away.

Mobility access

Please note that Skipsea beach is not recommended for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility.
