Fancy a day inland? Explore historic houses and period properties or put your best foot forward on iconic trails.
The Yorkshire Wolds are a range of rolling chalk hills in Yorkshire, but there’s so much more than just views. Take a day out form Skirlington Coast to explore charming villages, treat yourself to some hearty food and enjoy the Great British countryside.
For those with itchy feet, the Yorkshire Wolds is full of beautiful walks and trails. The Yorkshire Wolds Way is a 79-mile route – but don’t worry, you don’t have to tackle the whole thing! There are circular walks around Thixendale, Millington and South Cave.
And if you prefer a bike, the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route is a 146-mile loop through gentle countryside, villages and along the coast.
For a slice of culture, there are plenty of gardens, stately homes and heritage sites to visit during a day out in the Yorkshire Wolds. Explore the glorious Georgian Sledmere House and gardens, or perhaps the unique Burnby Hall Gardens, plus many more.
There are so many hearty and delicious treats to try during a break near the Yorkshire Wolds. Sample local produce at farm shops like Drewton’s or try traditional pubs in local villages. And exclusively for the over 18’s, you could visit the many Yorkshire Wolds breweries!
