The deep, sub-aquatic aquarium located at the confluence of the River Hull and the Humber Estuary, Hull, England.

Hull

Named the city of culture back in 2017, Hull has continued to invest in art and culture. The result? There are so many places to visit and things to do during this day out in east Yorkshire!

One key landmark we have to mention is The Deep – a striking futuristic aquarium right on the waterfront that’s home to sharks, rays and thousands of technicolour fishes!

Hulls Old Town is also well worth a visit, with its cobbled streets, beautiful old buildings and plenty of historic pubs.

Art & culture

For sports fans, Hull has two major rugby league teams (Hull FC and Hull KR) and football at the MKM Stadium with Hull City AFC.

If you prefer music and theatre, check out the Connexin Live (Bonus Arena), Hull Truck Theatre or Adelphi Club – a legendary grassroots music venue.

Old Town pubs and Humber Street bars also offer a great night out with plenty of character.

Free things to do!

There are loads of free things to do during a day out from Skirlington Coast that are fun and friendly for the wallet. Take your pick from a range of galleries – including the Streetlife Museum of Transport, which showcases over 200 years of transport history.

There’s also the Wilberforce House Museum, home to the birthplace of abolitionist William Wilberforce. Or you can take free guided tours of the Arctic Corsair, Hull’s last surviving sidewinder vessel.
